Our blogger of the week is someone I only found recently and she is a bundle of fun!

Happy Mum Happy Child

Tell us a little about your blog.
Happy Mum Happy Child is all about children’s activities, recipes, product reviews, being a parent, keeping sane and a little silliness.  Well actually A LOT of silliness, because that’s who I am. As my tagline states “saving you from therapy, one activity at a time” 😀

What is the story behind how you came to be a blogger?
Initially HMHC was just a Facebook page, but I was encouraged to start a blog along with it.  I’ve tried blogging before, but it never stuck as I was never really passionate about it. The great thing about HMHC is that it is my life, so it is easy to do.  I haven’t been at it for very long (less than a year), so still have a lot to learn!

Where do you go or what do you do to get inspiration for your blog?
My children are my biggest inspiration. But so are the other Mum’s I’ve come into contact with. Especially since creating HMHC. It has become clear, since starting this venture, that a lot of things don’t get talked about, when they should.

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learnt and how has it shaped you?
I’ve learned that a lot of people out there have experienced similar things to me in this parenting journey – it’s very encouraging! It also has made me realise that what I go through, and others go through, is relatively “normal”.

What one piece of advice would you give to new bloggers?
Just be yourself, and remember why you’re doing it.

Name some of the bloggers that you look up to and why?
I really enjoy Meagan Kerr’s blog (This is Meagan Kerr) – always very open and honest.
{We featured Meagan last week – read about her here}

About You:

What do you think about when you are alone in your car?
“Did I forget someone?” or “Where are my kids?”

What song is your personal anthem?
Everything is Awesome – The Lego Movie

If we came to your house for dinner, what would you prepare for us?
Probably something really boring and uneventful – having picky eaters means pasta, ham, and cheese. But I’d give you wine, and that would make up for the crappy meal 🙂

In the movie of your life, who would play you?
Emma Stone – pretty sure she can pull off being funny looking and acting like an idiot at the same time. Something I’ve managed to perfect over the years.

Where is your happy place, and why?
In the toilet, on the phone, checking my Facebook. With the door locked.  Reason – NO KIDS!

How would you describe your personal style?
My personal style is pretty much anything from Glassons – has to be a dark colour to hide the stains, and the fact that I may have not washed them for a few days …

What is the last thing that made you say ‘wow’?
This morning my daughter (3.5) showed me that she could put on her own socks.

What is your wish for the future?
That calories suddenly became irrelevant and no one would put on any weight when they ate food.  Hey, it doesn’t have to be a future in THIS universe 😛
