Tell us a little about your blog.
My blog is my happy place. It started from my love of being in the kitchen and has morphed into encompassing the love I have for lots of things including fashion, beauty, home décor, parenting and more food! It is my creative outlet, my passion if you will. I get so much enjoyment from it and love that I have something I can really put my heart and soul into as and when I choose.

What is the story behind how you came to be a blogger?
I started a blog when I launched my childrenswear business (Bubbalino) back in early 2010. I found blogging a chore and didn’t do it that often. It was more because people told me I needed the obligatory facebook page and blog to be relatable to my customers. I just never knew what to talk about, despite the fact that I have always loved to write. I guess it just didn’t feel authentic. And then I realised that everything I was posting on my business FB page and everything I ever wanted to post about on my blog was related to food. I knew then that I had found my niche and I launched The Bubbalino Kitchen as its own entity.

Where do you go or what do you do to get inspiration for your blog?
After two years of mainly blogging just food, with intertwined parenting tales, I have felt the need again to reinvent myself and to write about whatever makes me happy and inspires me. I gain inspiration from all around me – mostly from my family and crazy busy life with three children and our culinary adventures, but I also love perusing the interwebs, reading pretty magazines (which let’s face it is not too often!) and anything else that piques my interest.

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learnt and how has it shaped you?
The biggest lesson I’ve learnt is to get the experts in when you can’t do something yourself. I have a wonderful designer that helps me put my plans and visions into action because I have to accept that I am just not that techy!

What one piece of advice would you give to new bloggers?
Write about what makes your heart sing. Find your own voice and let it out. Be authentic and real. And humble and honest.

Name some of the bloggers that you look up to and why?
I love all kinds of bloggers and my Bloglovin Feed showcases foodies, mummy bloggers, fashion bloggers and lifestyle bloggers. I love it all!

My favourite all rounder blog is definitely Cupcakes & Cashmere – an American blog that is equal parts pretty, delicious, educational and inspirational. My favourite foodie bloggers that I admire hugely are Unna Burch from The Forest Cantina. Her talent is immense. Absolutely immense. And the originals of my obsession with blogging will always be Orangette & Annies EatsMaskcara is my favourite make up blog and I can spend hours looking at her tutorials and make overs. Brilliantly talented and gorgeous woman.

I look up to Melissa from The Best Nest because she’s an all rounder. Even if she wasn’t my friend, I’d read her blog because she is hilarious, says things we all think and has been in this game so long and just knows what she’s doing.

About You:

What do you think about when you are alone in your car?
I’m seldom alone in the car, and if I am, I’m singing as loud as I can to the radio, but most likely I’m thinking about what I’m going to make for dinner, what I’m needing to do next for my blog, what’s happening this weekend or what’s on my constant ‘to do list’.

What song is your personal anthem?
It’s completely cheesy but I Hope You Dance by Leann Womack is full of lyrics I want to live by.

If we came to your house for dinner, what would you prepare for us?
Depends on the season – if it was summer we would be having a delicious BBQ with juicy steaks, devils on horseback, fresh pear, blue cheese & candied walnut salad, homemade garlic bread and Mango Trifle to finish. If it was Winter I’d make something rich and wholesome – my favourite Chicken & Mushroom lasagne with steamed greens or Pearl Barley risotto with roasted chicken and lemon butter sauce, followed by a hot caramel apple pudding or brownie chocolate pudding with lashings of whipped cream to round it all off! How do any of those sound?

In the movie of your life, who would play you?
I have no idea. Honestly, I wish I could say Jessica Alba because she is pure perfection and imagine looking in the mirror at that all day! But I got nothing!

Where is your happy place, and why?
In my kitchen making something yummy. Or snuggled up in my bed reading an “I can not put this down” kind of book. Something by Jodi Picoult usually does that to me!

How would you describe your personal style?
I’m a jeans and chuck taylor kind of girl. I unwittingly dress in grey and black and my favourite of all time is stripes.

What is the last thing that made you say ‘wow’?
This hilarious make up tutorial video that was just gold!

What is your wish for the future?
To raise well rounded children who respect their elders and are never too old to let me snuggle them in public. Apart from that I just want to feel like I’ve made good decisions for myself and my family. And to live my life with gratitude and contentment.
