HITCHED Visual Decadence

I received my first copy of Hitched Magazine (Issue 2), and was beyond excited, I’d been wanting to get my hands on a copy since seeing the amazing cover of the first issue (which you can see here).  Each issue so far has had a guest illustrator.  For this issue it is the amazing Rik Lee, and I think we can all agree that this is one sexy cover!   I’m really looking forward to seeing who illustrates issue 3!

I have been engaged to my man for almost 11 years, so I’ve flipped through hundreds of wedding mags.  Hitched is unlike any other wedding magazine I’ve ever seen.  It truly is a visually stunning – it’s more like a piece of art, or a beautiful coffee table book, than another boring old wedding mag.

I stopped looking at wedding magazines a couple of years ago, I really felt like I was just seeing the same content over and over, but with Hitched, every page was a joy, and a pleasure to look upon.  I was thrilled to see the first wedding featured was a same sex couple, celebrating NZ’s recent law change permitting same sex marriage, thrilled to see women with beautiful body art (tattoos) featured,  and thrilled thrice over by Rik Lee’s beautiful illustrations throughout.  It’s just so REAL, and so refreshing to have a wedding magazine that reflects all kinds of people, styles and tastes – to see some diversity, rather than just the hardcore traditionalist type weddings.

I will treasure my copy of Hitched, and I can honestly say, even if you aren’t planning a wedding, you should grab a copy anyway.  Its super-duper eye candy!

You can order specific copies, or subscibe via the Hitched Magazine wesbsite HERE.
