How to Make a Terrarium with Echo Bella

This is a sponsored post for Echo Bella.

I have been on the lookout for a small hanging planter, for a hook in the ceiling positioned over the kitchen counter, for a while now. So when Ivy from Echo Bella sent me a super cute geometric pyramid hanging planter I already had the perfect place for it.

Available in a range of sizes and shapes this is a new range for Echo Bella, an online store who source exciting home wares from around the globe.

The planters come without the plants etc so I thought I would show you how I made mine.

Gather your ingredients.
I bought a cheap succulent that had a few different sized shoots for my terrarium. There are lots of different variations in succulents, in colour, size, shape so choose something that will compliment your space. You can even use cacti. I also bought some white rocks to contrast the green of the succulent and the black of the planter.

Add the rock layer to your planter first as this is your drainage layer. Then add a layer of potting mix for succulents and cacti. I used the excess potting soil from the pot I bought my succulent in. You need a layer thick enough for your plants to root to.

Plant your succulent or cacti. Start with the biggest plants and at the back of your planter. I couldn’t find really small succulents so I choose a plant with smaller shoots and broke it up.

Once I was happy with my arrangement I added some white sand as my final layer. As I only needed a little sand I took some from an orchid I have in my lounge.

Here is my finished product, not as tidy as it could be but it does the trick!
