My Valentine – Thankful Thursday
What with today being Valentine’s Day I thought it only fitting to pay tribute to my amazing husband for this week’s Thankful Thursday post.
Not only is he my extremely supportive husband of over 11 years and my best friend, he is also a wonderful father to our boys. He is the fun parent and the three of them get up to all kinds of mischief together. I really couldn’t ask for a better life companion.
But as well as all of the above he has shown me the world, literally. I had never been outside of Australia when we met and I acquired my first passport in order to meet his family for the first time in New Zealand. On that first trip I learnt a lot, not only about him, but also what a beautiful country this is. Over the next couple of years we would move to the UK, go back to Tasmania to get married, travel around Europe and then settle in NZ in 2004.
The highlight to date though would have to be our seven months spent living in the USA last year, as part of his job.
We had the amazing opportunity to live on the edge of a New England forest around 1.5 hrs from Boston. It really was a unique experience for all of us – the sounds, the sights, the animals… We were able to travel not only around Massachusetts, but to New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Wisconsin, Illinois, Colorado, Wyoming and Montana, including Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park.
So today I’ll leave you with just a few moments from our trip. It really was amazing and I can’t thank my husband enough for all he does for us, the long hours he works to support us, and the fabulous places he takes us…

Our local township in Massachusetts

Predator antics in the local forest

The boys first experience of snow

Dinosaur extravagansas in a local museum
