Precious Moments – Thankful Thursday
I’ve missed the last couple of Thursday “Gratitude is an Attitude” posts for no other reason than life gets in the way and the day is over before I know it! But I woke up this morning with Thursday on my mind… this being my second last Thursday to just hang with my youngest before he heads off to Kindy in a couple of weeks.
It has become a bit of a ritual for us (since my eldest started school last year) to spend every Thursday morning at a local library, where they have story time, and then head off to our favourite beach side cafe for a coffee, fluffy and a date scone, then a walk on the beach or play in the playground.
I’d forgotten in the chaos of school holidays just how great his company is when it’s just us. He’s a bit a live wire you see, and is ALWAYS in some kind of competition with his brother.
Who has the biggest bowl at breakfast, who has the fastest hot wheels car, who has the best spot to watch the TV, who gets the most kisses from Mama, who bats first at backyard cricket, who has the biggest fork at dinner time… you get my drift? Usually these little competitions end in whining, fighting and/or tantrums, usually all three.
But get him on his own and he is a pure delight, all sweet smiles and whispers of “I love you Mama”, forever helpful and full of hugs.
So today I am thankful for the special morning date we had, and all those Thursday’s past. They really do grow up fast!
It’s Thankful Thursday where Gratitude is an Attitude!

Just GORGEOUS!!!! The time goes way too fast…. not fair at all! Superb that you appreciate time with your beautiful boys! Awesome to have you here again xxx
What a lovely Thursday routine you’ve got going. My kids used to be competitive too (still are at times) but when I got them alone they were different. Your photographs are beautiful! I hope your little one enjoyed his first day at kindy! xo
