Remington Colour Protect Therapy Straightener

| March 12, 2013 | 68 Comments

From creamy blondes to vibrant reds and everything in between, everyone wants colour that lasts.  Whether you’ve invested in a permanent hue, or some uplifting highlights, don’t watch your colour fizzle and fade.  Now you can  ensure prolonged radiance and shine as you style with the new Remington Colour Protect Therapy Straightener.

I enlisted the help of the lovely Leilani Fatupaito to help me test them out.  As someone who uses straighteners all the time, I thought it would be great to get Leilani’s expert opinion.

These new straighteners from Remington are similar to their other therapy straighteners, but the micro-conditioner’s infused into this one are specially designed to keep coloured hair looking as bright and bold, as the day it was done!

Great for those of us who regularly dye their hair, as heated styling tools usually decrease the life of this colour – until now!

These wonderful hair straighteners have a new feature called a ‘smart sensor’, which automatically senses the amount of moisture in your hair, and then adjusts the temperature of the irons to make sure it doesn’t dry out your hair!

Complete product details:

  • Plates infused with colour protect micro conditioners that transfer to the hair during styling
  • Smart heat sensor technology
  • High heat to 230°C
  • Heats up in 15 seconds
  • 5 variable heat settings 160°C – 230°C
  • Accurate digital controls
  • 110mm plates
  • Floating plate for constant contact and fast styling
  • Temperature lock function
  • Turbo boost function to reach the top temperature quickly
  • Automatic safety shut off
  • Automatic worldwide voltage
  • Hinge lock
  • Salon swivel cord
  • Heat resistant storage pouch
  • 2 year warranty

Here’s what Leilani had to say about the Remington Colour Protect Therapy Straighteners:

I have quite dry, coarse, thick Polynesian hair (Lucky me!) and have always been a loyal GHD user. However, I was quite surprised at how well this straightener worked on my hair.   It heats up literally within seconds, and I found that the lower temperatures worked just as well.  If your hair is anything like mine, I find one half of my head tends to be easier to straighten than the other – so naturally a higher temperature is required for the stubborn half!  Using this straightener however, has cut down on the time it takes for me to straighten my hair – which is always a bonus when you’re running out of the door in the morning.  My hair felt smooth and soft, which makes it much easier to handle.  I found that I didn’t even have to touch up my fringe over the next couple of days – I could just comb it out and it would still lie flat.  Highly recommend!

Competition is now CLOSED.
