The Ministry of Kindness – an LDM initiative

| July 24, 2013 | 5 Comments

an LDM initiative - Makes someones day.

We have talked about the concept of Pay It Forward here at LDM before and have come across numerous websites and Facebook pages like The Angel Zoe Kindness Project and The Lonely Bouquet that practice random acts of kindness. Did you know that there is even a Random Acts of Kindness Day in New Zealand? True! It is celebrated on September 1st.

Well we want to get in on the act and we want you to join us. We believe that everyone deserves a little kindness in their lives, whether it be letting someone into a line ahead of you, making sure that person who gave you awesome service knows about it, or simply making someone smile… just because.

Did you know that smiling not only boosts your mood, but your immune system too? Research has even shown that smiling is contagious, can relieve stress and it is easier to smile than it is to frown. So many GREAT reasons to smile and to get others smiling too.

So join us by printing out our FREE printables and leaving them for people to make them smile. You can download our pre-made cards below and we’d love to hear your suggestions for new cards too!

We’d love for you to keep us in the loop and comment below if you have left a Kindness Card for someone, or even better if you have been the lucky receiver of a Kindness Card. You can also follow along on our dedicated Facebook page.

I just kicked off The Ministry of Kindness and left some cards at Nosh in G.I. … I wonder who will find them?

LOVE this. Just absolutely LOVE it. Have you heard about the Coffee Club initiative? It’s when someone buys a coffee for a homeless person or someone who can’t afford it and leaves the order behind the counter for when they come in. The other thing that springs to mind is that on my (occasional) run in Half Moon Bay I have noticed that someone goes out each morning and writes the words HOPE! in chalk on the footpath. It has never failed to lift my spirits. Even if things are rubbish in my life it has made me smile, and given me hope. Words are that powerful. Vix x
